The iOS has been successfully ported to Nokia N900, perhaps we see iOS runs on more gear than Apple?

The developer, Winocm managed to get the Kernel TREE, "the basis of OS X and iOS, successfully works in the 2009 of the Nokia N900.

Do you remember the N900 the right? It was a Nokia Maemo OS running device, which made a splash with a fully functional Web browser, flash support and smooth multitasking. It was really a very small tablet that also happened to make phone calls.

In the case of Winocm the basic element of the port operating system Apple does not include any user interface functions, and it does not start as a functional operating system. In fact, a developer who has gone through all the hard work to make the launch of the N900 has a kernel does not plan to work on any UI support, kernel only, "in the end, that's what is really important right?"

This is not to say that Apple is going to start licensing OS to other manufacturers, but it is a proof of concept. In addition to the N900 Winocm outlined other hardware capable of booting the system.

Nokia finally ditching Symbian this summer

The sun is setting on Symbian. On the day the Nokia Lumia 925 hits shops, reports say Nokia is finally ditching the feature phone operating system in the next couple of months, with the Nokia 808 PureView the final Symbian phone. The Financial Times reports that Nokia is ending delivery of Symbian phones this summer, claiming the Finnish phone-fanciers blame the amount of time it takes to develop Symbian devices.

Nokia has in recent years relied on feature phones to shore up its business after coming late to the smart phone game, not to mention hitching its wagon to Microsoft's still-fledgling Windows Phone platform. Although Nokia hasn't confirmed the timing, the 808 PureView was officially confirmed earlier this year to be the final Symbian phone from Nokia.

In recent years, the inclusion of Internet connection and basic apps on Symbian feature phones saw the gap narrow between Symbian phones and Nokia's Windows Phone-powered Lumia smart phones. With the likes of the Lumia 520 and excellent 620, Nokia is making affordable smart phones in the hope of appealing to customers on a budget both here and in developing markets -- not to mention Nokia's Asha feature phones, which run Nokia's own software.

People around the world are certainly losing interest in Symbian: in recent figures, sales of Symbian phones plummeted from more than 10 million in 2012 to just over 1m this year. Meanwhile Windows Phone is growing, overtaking BlackBerry to slide into third place in the phone charts, behind the iPhone and all-conquering Android. Nokia Lumia 925 available now in UK

The Nokia Lumia 925 is available now. The new flagship Windows Phone 8 smart phone from Nokia lands in different colours at different networks and shops throughout the week, and brings with it a new camera mode and always-on clock. Unlike previous Lumias, the 925 ditches the brightly coloured cases for a monochrome cladding. The 32GB black version is exclusively sold by Vodafone at first, while the white 16GB model is only sold by O2 for now. 3, EE, Phones4u, and Carphone Warehouse and other shops will sell the 925 later this month.

Based on the Lumia flagship the Nokia Lumia 920 -- and a European version of the Lumia 928 -- the 925 is the first Lumia with metal in the design. A metal band encases the polycarbonate plastic back, which can be swapped for yellow and red options. Oh, and a wireless charging cover can be clipped onto the back instead, so you can charge your phone without plugging in a cable. The Lumia showcases Nokia's Smart Camera mode, which captures ten images in one go, so you can quickly pick the best snap or edit out stuff from the picture. Smart Camera mode will come to all Lumia Windows Phone 8 smartphones in a forthcoming software update.

The 925 is also the first to shows the time all the time, with Glance Screen displaying a clock even when you haven't woken the phone.
