ZTE Nubia Z5s and ZTE Nubia Z5s mini both get benchmarked on AnTuTu

ZTE is looking to move up in the ranks of smartphone manufacturers and to accomplish that, the China based OEM is expanding its high end offerings. The ZTE Nubia Z5s sports the high-end specs that power users crave. Under the hood is a quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor which helped the phone score 28,066 on AnTuTu version 4.0.

The phones that it outscored, like the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and the Sony Xperia Z, are not powered by the Snapdragon 800.While the only phone listed above the Nubia Z5s is the Snapdragon 800 packin' Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the difference of over 5000 points between the two is a bit surprising since the ZTE unit features the MSM8974AB version of the processor as opposed to the MSM8974 on the Samsung phablet.

So how did the ZTE Nubia Z5s mini fare? With a score of 21,012, the handset beat out the Samsung GALAXY Note II, the Sony Xperia Z and the Samsung Galaxy S III. But with the small fry packing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 inside, unlike the latter three models, the score is a bit low. Consider that the handsets that scored directly above the Nubia Z5s mini include those also packing the Snapdragon 600 such as the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4.

If ZTE wants to achieve its goal of being one of the top three smartphone manufacturers in the world, it will need to release these pups globally. Right now, the ZTE Nubia Z5s is expected to be offered in China by appointment only on November 26th. Available in black or white, the 3G 16GB model will be priced at 1999 Yuan ($328 USD), while the 32GB LTE version will go for 3456 Yuan ($567). As for the ZTE Nubia Z5s mini, the 16GB 3G model will be priced at 1499 Yuan ($246 USD), while the 32GB 4G LTE version will be priced at 2345 Yuan ($348 USD). The phone will be available in four colors, red, yellow, blue and green.
