ShoreTel Mobility 7 Redefines the User Experience for the Mobile Generation

ShoreTel® (http://www.shoretel.com/) (NASDAQ: SHOR), the leading provider of brilliantly simple unified communications platforms (http://www.shoretel.com/solutions/unified_communications/benefits) including business phone systems (http://www.shoretelsky.com/products/?ce1=2&utm_expid=...), applications and mobile UC solutions (http://www.shoretel.com/solutions/enterprise_mobility), today announced the availability of the ShoreTel Mobility 7 software release, which offers unified communications (UC) capabilities with a completely redesigned user interface and simplified integration to boost workforce productivity for iPhone® and Android™ users.  With ShoreTel Mobility 7, users can transform their iOS smartphone or tablet into a desk phone with the ShoreTel Dock, which is now available for ordering.

The new “Today” screen in the application integrates with the native calendar on Android and iOS platforms.  The ShoreTel Mobility Client automatically displays conference calls on the mobile user’s calendar and allows for one-click access to web and audio conferences.  A simple “Join” button automatically dials the specific conference call and enters the conference-participant code – freeing users from juggling apps whilst trying to memorise numbers and PIN codes.

“ShoreTel Mobility software is already a key tool for our mobile employees, and we are looking forward to using the new features, especially the innovative ‘Today’ screen that eliminates the complexity of joining conference calls when employees are on the go,” said Mike Segall, Director of IT Infrastructure at Flotek, a provider of specialty chemicals and production equipment using ShoreTel UC solutions.

ShoreTel Mobility 7 also integrates with ShoreTel Conferencing so that users can switch to the presentation view with a single click, which provides both audio and visual participation.  When a user launches a conference from a meeting invite, the “Call Me” option opens ShoreTel Mobility, whilst clicking the link launches the ShoreTel Conferencing app.

Personal-dial support allows for non-business calls to be placed with the users’ cellular-caller ID through the ShoreTel Mobility app, eliminating yet another need to continuously switch back and forth between voice apps.  Per-call selections are available in a contextually aware drop-down menu, which provides options for personal caller ID, Wi-Fi, or cellular.

“Enterprise end users expect mobile UC clients to be as intuitive and easy to use as consumer apps found on a wide variety of smartphones and tablets,” said Brian Riggs, Principal Analyst at Ovum.  “This increases adoption of UC in the enterprise, helping businesses to derive the most benefit from their IT investments, whilst reducing training costs, resulting in a lower TCO of UC solutions purchased.  ShoreTel Mobility 7’s rich set of integrated voice, conferencing and collaboration, presence, IM, and other features presents businesses with the communications tools central to successfully deploying UC.”

ShoreTel Mobility 7 also makes it easier than ever for ShoreTel’s distribution network of VADs, service providers and resellers to address the increasing demand from businesses of all sizes for a fully integrated ShoreTel UC solution.

“Our channel is a buzz of excitement with the customer interest in ShoreTel Mobility and the ShoreTel Dock (http://www.shoretel.com/products/ip_phones/ShoreTel_Dock....).  With our latest software release, resellers can deliver a fantastic and intuitive experience for end users and IT administrators alike,” said David Petts, Senior VP of Worldwide Sales at ShoreTel.  “As a result, customers are able to integrate leading smartphones and tablets securely, simply and cost-effectively into existing enterprise communication applications and infrastructure to provide greater flexibility and increased productivity.”
